About the CLC

Doncaster South City Learning Centre (CLC) is funded by the DfES as part of the Excellence in Cities programme and is a shared resource for all partner schools, the local community and local business.

The CLC's are a key element of the Exellence in Cities (EiC) programme, facilitated by the Department of Education and Skills, providing state-of-the-art ICT-based learning opportunities for Doncaster and the surrounding community.

The main aim of the CLC is to enhance learning and teaching across the whole curriculum and provide access and education to the wider community.

Objectives

  • 1) GEEE - Guarantee an Excellent Educational Experience
  • 2) Improve access to, and use of, the latest educational technology
  • 3) Increase attainment levels through the use of technology
  • 4) Improve the quality of learning and teaching
  • 5) Act as a test bed for innovation and new ways of working

How will this be achieved?

  • 1) Providing access to state of the art ICT equipment in a non school like environment
  • 2) Providing courses and opportunities for pupils, teachers and others in the community
  • 3) Sharing good practice amongst schools
  • 4) Supporting other EiC policy standards
  • 5) Linking with other ICT provisions across Doncaster
  • 6) Developing new and exciting projects across the curriculum
